Children

Children naturally take to activities which involve balancing but will develop greater balance and proprioceptive skills if they're allowed to use a wobble board.

The wobble board is seen as fun and will keep them occupied for long periods. Despite being used as a toy, while the child is active on a wobble board they are not only unknowingly building muscle, joint strength and flexibility etc, but are also enhancing reflexes, co-ordination, balance and neurological function.

A wobble board is an ideal tool for a child with low confidence levels because of poor muscular co-ordination or motor skill problems (see our special needs page). However, it's use shouldn't be restricted to children with problems. Children with no physical or learning difficulties will benefit immensely by using a wobble board.Their already normal skill levels will be enhanced considerably by regular proprioceptive training and subsequently their abilities in many areas will excel.
